What is ClassSwap?

ClassSwap is a campus-only platform where college students connect around class enrollments. If you are enrolled in a class that someone else wants — and they are enrolled in a class you want — you can find each other and coordinate the change through your school without dropping first and hoping for the best.

How do I post a class I want to give up?

Click 'Post a listing' from your dashboard. Tell us the class you have (course name, section, time, professor, and whether it is a lecture, lab, or discussion), and the class you want. Once you submit, your listing goes live so other students can find and connect with you. ClassSwap does not verify enrollment — students confirm that with each other directly.

How do I request a connection with someone else?

Browse listings at your school and filter by the class you want. When you see a compatible listing, click 'Request connection' and add a short note. The other student will get an email and an in-app notification.

What happens after a connection request is accepted?

Both students get an email confirmation with the full course details and the other student's name. You then coordinate the drop/add through your school's official portal or registrar. ClassSwap does not move enrollments for you.

Do I need to do anything with my school's registrar?

Yes. Every school has its own rules for dropping and adding classes. Talk to your registrar or use your school's official registration system to finalize the change. Do not rely on ClassSwap alone to change your enrollment.

What happens if a connection doesn't work out?

ClassSwap is here to make finding a class connection easier, but we're a platform, not a referee. If another student isn't following through, that's on them. If someone is being dishonest or abusive, use the Report button and we'll take care of it.

How do I report a suspicious user or listing?

In any chat, click the 'Report' button and tell us what happened. You can also contact us using the Contact Us button. We review reports as quickly as possible and may suspend accounts that violate our terms.

Can I message another student directly on ClassSwap?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you've connected with someone about a class, you can message them directly through ClassSwap's built-in messaging — no need to exchange personal contact info. All conversations are kept in your Messages tab so you can refer back to them anytime.

Can I block someone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can block any user at any time from their profile or from a message thread. Blocking works in both directions: neither of you can message the other, send connection requests, view each other’s profile, or see each other’s listings.

Is ClassSwap affiliated with my school?

Accepted Answer

No. ClassSwap LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any educational institution, university, or college. School names and .edu email addresses are used solely to verify that users are currently enrolled college students.

Could a class change affect my financial aid or graduation?

ClassSwap is not responsible for any academic, financial aid, enrollment, or graduation consequences that may result from any change to your class schedule. Always consult your academic advisor, financial aid office, and school registrar before making any changes.
